Engines for mini excavators, tractors and generators: Kubota, Yanmar, Perkins and Deutz
Mini excavators, compact tractors, mowers and generators rarely have an engine made by the machine brand. Most often it is a Kubota, Yanmar, Perkins or Deutz. Here is how to identify the exact engine and what to expect when replacing it.
Kubota
Kubota is the most common small diesel in Europe. The D series (3 cylinders – D722, D1105) and V series (4 cylinders – V1505, V2203, V2403) are found in mini excavators, mowers, generators and compressors. See Kubota engines and the codes V1505 and D1105.
Yanmar
Yanmar TNE and TNV engines (3TNE68, 3TNV70, 3TNV88, 4TNV98) power mini excavators, John Deere mowers, generators and boats. See Yanmar engines and the code 3TNV70.
Perkins
Perkins is a British manufacturer popular in JCB backhoe loaders, forklifts, telehandlers and generators. The 400 series (404D-22) and 1100 series (1104) are the most requested. See the code 404D-22.
Deutz
Deutz is known for the air/oil-cooled 1011 and 2011 series (for example F3M2011, F4M2011) – tough engines for construction machinery, compressors and tractors. See the code F3M2011.
How to identify the exact engine
- Photograph the engine plate – model and serial number
- Note the machine make, model and year
- Note what is fitted to the engine – pump, starter, alternator, flywheel housing
- Send us the details – we check compatibility
New or used engine for a machine
For heavily used machines a new engine is often better value in the long run, while for older machines a used engine with low hours is a sensible choice. Dvigateli.bg offers both and delivers to site or workshop in Bulgaria, Greece, Spain and the UK. Browse engines for agricultural machinery or send an enquiry.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find out which engine my mini excavator has?
Look at the engine plate – it shows the model and serial number. If it is missing, send us the machine make and model and photos of the engine.
Can a Kubota engine be replaced with a different model?
Sometimes, but it requires modifications. The easiest and most reliable option is the same engine model.
Do you import new Kubota and Yanmar engines?
Yes, we import new and used Kubota, Yanmar, Perkins and Deutz engines to order.
